About this item

Deals Holy damage that scales with Faith. No sacred seal or memorized incantation is required, but a normal use costs 5 FP as well as the prepared pot.

Has a four-times damage modifier against qualifying Those Who Live in Death, in addition to normal defense and resistance calculations. It is not simply a general four-times bonus against every enemy.

A qualifying skeleton killed by its Holy effect is prevented from reviving, avoiding the extra strike on its reassembling remains. A skeleton still alive after the hit has not been permanently defeated.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Missionary's Cookbook [1]

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Church of Elleh

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Missionary's Cookbook [1]
  • Empty Cracked Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 1 Mushroom and 1 Tarnished Golden Sunflower
  • 1,000 runes
  1. From the First Step, follow the path north to the ruined Church of Elleh.
  2. Talk to Kale beside the campfire and open his shop.
  3. Buy the cookbook for 1,000 runes.
  4. If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
  5. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Cracked Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Holy Water Pot.
  6. Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.

Notes

  • Deals Holy damage that scales with Faith. No sacred seal or memorized incantation is required, but a normal use costs 5 FP as well as the prepared pot.
  • Has a four-times damage modifier against qualifying Those Who Live in Death, in addition to normal defense and resistance calculations. It is not simply a general four-times bonus against every enemy.
  • A qualifying skeleton killed by its Holy effect is prevented from reviving, avoiding the extra strike on its reassembling remains. A skeleton still alive after the hit has not been permanently defeated.
  • Its special undead damage can make it much more effective than its ordinary Holy hit suggests. Other enemies still use their own Holy resistance, including bosses with strong protection against Holy damage.
  • One craft uses 1 Mushroom and 1 Tarnished Golden Sunflower. It occupies one empty Cracked Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
  • Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
  • Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
  • Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
