About this item
Throw it to deal Lightning damage that can jump to nearby enemies. It is useful against a close group, but does not automatically hit every enemy in a large area.
Damage scales mainly with Dexterity, with a smaller Strength contribution. It has no Faith or Arcane damage scaling. You do not need a sacred seal or a memorized spell to use it.
Costs no FP. Each throw spends one finished pot and frees its Ritual Pot container for another craft.

Where to find
Crafting after collecting Ancient Dragon Knight's Cookbook [1]
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Fog Rift Catacombs
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Ancient Dragon Knight's Cookbook [1]
- Empty Ritual Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: one Redflesh Mushroom and one Red Fulgurbloom
- Enter the Realm of Shadow after defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, by touching the withered arm in Mohg's arena.
- From Gravesite Plain, ride north through Scorched Ruins and follow the road toward the great stone arch. Continue to Three-Path Cross grace beside the cross.
- Take the eastern road from the cross toward Ellac Greatbridge. Cross the bridge, keeping clear of the soldiers and ballista fire, and activate Castle Front grace on the far side.
- From Castle Front, head north through the ravine below Fog Rift Fort. Pass beneath the wooden scaffolds and continue through the misty woodland, watching for the small Shadow Militiamen.
- Find the catacomb doors between two pale braziers at the northern end. Enter, ride the lift down and activate Fog Rift Catacombs grace.
- Pass the first Lion Imp room to the chamber with the falling spike ceiling. Trigger the ceiling from the doorway, then move while it rises. Use the alcove on the left as a safe stopping point before crossing to the two imps at the far end.
- Continue into the room with a sorcerer on the raised walkway. Pass underneath that walkway and through the far doorway. Watch for the imp approaching from beyond it and the sorcerer's bouncing projectiles.
- The next room has a cannon-mouthed Imp on an upper platform. From the entrance, take the corridor on the right to the book's side room.
- Clear the cannon Imp beside the left of the doorway and the Lion Imp at the back left. Loot the corpse for Ancient Dragon Knight's Cookbook (1). You do not need to ride a spike ceiling or defeat the Death Knight for this book.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at the Church of Elleh if Item Crafting is unavailable.
- Bring an empty Ritual Pot and one Redflesh Mushroom and one Red Fulgurbloom. Open Item Crafting outside combat and make Red Lightning Pot.
Notes
- Throw it to deal Lightning damage that can jump to nearby enemies. It is useful against a close group, but does not automatically hit every enemy in a large area.
- Damage scales mainly with Dexterity, with a smaller Strength contribution. It has no Faith or Arcane damage scaling. You do not need a sacred seal or a memorized spell to use it.
- Costs no FP. Each throw spends one finished pot and frees its Ritual Pot container for another craft.
- Ancient Dragon Knight's Cookbook (1) unlocks the recipe. One craft needs one Redflesh Mushroom, one Red Fulgurbloom and one empty Ritual Pot. Hefty Cracked Pots and ordinary Cracked Pots do not work for this recipe.
- You can carry up to 10, limited further by how many Ritual Pots are available after your other crafted pots. Storing other Ritual Pot items frees their containers for crafting, but does not create extra containers.
- Hefty Red Lightning Pot is a separate item with a different recipe and container. The word red does not make this smaller version a Fire attack.
