About this item

Throws Deadly Poison behind you, with 250 base buildup before Arcane scaling. It is meant for an enemy following you rather than one you are facing at range.

Using it also builds Poison on the player. A retreating throw does not protect you from that self-buildup, so repeated use needs a cure or enough resistance.

The active Deadly Poison is short and fast, normally lasting 30 seconds. It is different from ordinary Poison's 90-second drain.

In-game description

Craftable item prepared using a cracked pot.

A cocktail of effluents is sealed inside, and a short rope that aids throwing has been secured around the pot.

Throw at rearward enemies to cause buildup of deadly poison.

Beware though; those who carry these pots will slowly accumulate poison in their own bodies.

Push someone in a privy; expect to get dung on your hands.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [4]

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Mistwood Outskirts

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [4]
  • Empty Cracked Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 1 Mushroom, 1 Gold-Tinged Excrement and 1 String
  1. Follow the road south into Mistwood toward the map monument for eastern Limgrave.
  2. Near the monument, look for the large Runebear scratching a tree.
  3. Approach the nearby corpse carefully and loot the cookbook. Fighting the bear is optional.
  4. Move away once you have the item, since the bear can close the distance quickly.
  5. If needed, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. Owning a cookbook alone does not open Item Crafting.
  6. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Cracked Pot. Open Item Crafting outside combat and make Roped Fetid Pot, then assign it to a quick-item slot or pouch.

Notes

  • Throws Deadly Poison behind you, with 250 base buildup before Arcane scaling. It is meant for an enemy following you rather than one you are facing at range.
  • Using it also builds Poison on the player. A retreating throw does not protect you from that self-buildup, so repeated use needs a cure or enough resistance.
  • The active Deadly Poison is short and fast, normally lasting 30 seconds. It is different from ordinary Poison's 90-second drain.
  • Costs no FP and adds String to the ordinary Fetid Pot recipe. The rope changes its throw direction, rather than removing the self-poison drawback.
  • Arcane increases the buildup. It does not remove Poison immunity, lengthen the drain or turn the mixture into Scarlet Rot.
  • Each craft uses 1 Mushroom, 1 Gold-Tinged Excrement and 1 String and occupies one empty Cracked Pot. The ingredients are spent, while throwing the pot returns its container for another mixture.
  • Other recipes using the same container type share that supply. The recipe remains unlocked after use, but an empty pot does not refill itself without another craft.
