About this item
Throws Fire behind you rather than toward the reticle. It is useful while an enemy pursues you; locking onto something ahead does not change it into a normal forward throw.
Its Fire damage favors Strength with weaker Dexterity scaling. Faith does not become its damage attribute simply because the pot burns.
Uses the same ordinary Fire Pot ingredients plus one String. The rope changes its throwing behavior rather than turning it into a reusable weapon or an Ash of War.

Where to find
Crafting with the Crafting Kit
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Church of Elleh
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Empty Cracked Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: 1 Mushroom, 1 Smoldering Butterfly and 1 String
- From The First Step in Limgrave, travel north to the ruined Church of Elleh and speak to Kale beside the campfire.
- If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
- Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Cracked Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Roped Fire Pot.
- Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.
Notes
- Throws Fire behind you rather than toward the reticle. It is useful while an enemy pursues you; locking onto something ahead does not change it into a normal forward throw.
- Its Fire damage favors Strength with weaker Dexterity scaling. Faith does not become its damage attribute simply because the pot burns.
- Uses the same ordinary Fire Pot ingredients plus one String. The rope changes its throwing behavior rather than turning it into a reusable weapon or an Ash of War.
- Its Fire hit can remove an active Frostbite effect. If you want to preserve that temporary damage vulnerability, use a different damage type until it expires.
- One craft uses 1 Mushroom, 1 Smoldering Butterfly and 1 String. It occupies one empty Cracked Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
- Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
- Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
- Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
