In-game description
Sword wrought from the remains of a god who should have lived a life eternal.
Thoughts on what the weapon portends are many and varied. Some consider it the mark of a great sin, or a sign of great devastation. Some think it as the end of an age, while others; the beginning.
Skill
Imbue the sword with bygone golden glory, then fire it at foes. A wide, golden wave fans out forwards, sweeping through all enemies caught in its path.
Where to find
Leyndell, Ashen Capital
Starting Site of Grace: Elden Throne
Before you go
- Defeat Radagon and the Elden Beast.
- Keep the Elden Remembrance.
- Defeat Maliketh to return to the changed capital. Cross the ash toward the Erdtree and climb the familiar root route toward the sanctuary.
- Defeat Sir Gideon Ofnir in the sanctuary, then continue up to Queen's Bedchamber.
- Climb to the arena before the Erdtree and defeat Godfrey. Continue through his Hoarah Loux phase to finish the encounter and receive the remembrance.
- After defeating Hoarah Loux, activate Elden Throne. Enter the Erdtree and defeat Radagon followed by Elden Beast in the same encounter to receive Elden Remembrance.
- Return to Enia at Roundtable Hold before starting a later journey. The remembrance exchange remains available after the final fight.
- At Enia's remembrance exchange, select Sacred Relic Sword. Marika's Hammer is the alternative reward.
Notes
- Requires 14 Strength, 24 Dexterity and 22 Faith, and weighs 11. Dexterity provides the strongest Physical scaling, Strength is weaker, and Faith improves Holy damage.
- Has a critical rating of 110 for backstabs and ripostes. That rating does not give every ordinary attack or Wave of Gold a 10% bonus.
- Wave of Gold costs 42 FP and 75 stamina. It sends a broad Holy wave across the ground, covering a much wider area as it travels.
- The wave improves through Faith and upgrades independently of the sword's ordinary Physical damage. Dexterity strengthens the blade without strengthening that Holy wave in the same way.
- Its damage decreases farther from the caster, and distant hits give much less stance pressure. The enormous visual coverage is useful for clearing groups rather than guaranteeing a stance break on every target.
- Shard of Alexander and Holy damage bonuses improve Wave of Gold. Godfrey Icon does not because the skill cannot be charged. Incantation talismans and a seal's scaling do not improve a weapon skill.
- The preparation and recovery are substantial. Cast from enough distance or a safe enemy recovery window rather than expecting the wave to interrupt every close attack.
- The wave is useful for groups at Mohgwyn Palace's Palace Approach Ledge-Road, but rune gains still depend on the enemies and your separate rune-gain bonuses. The sword has no universal passive rune multiplier.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Enia offers it after the final encounter. You can return to her before starting Journey 2, so do not leave unfinished pickups behind just to obtain this weapon.
- Marika's Hammer is the other Elden Remembrance reward. A compatible duplication lets you choose both during the same journey.
