About this armor

Reduces the FP cost of sorceries by 15% while worn. It does not reduce incantation costs or the cost of weapon skills.

Its passive effect increases incoming physical and elemental hit damage by 10% before the rest of your defenses are accounted for. The FP saving comes with a real defensive penalty, rather than simply a low armor rating.

Other FP modifiers multiply with this one. With Azur's Glintstone Staff's 20% sorcery cost increase, the combined factor is 1.02, or roughly 2% above the normal cost before whole-number rounding.

Where to find

Chest above the rolling-ball stairs

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Debate Parlor

Before you go

  • Enter Raya Lucaria with an Academy Glintstone Key and defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon.
  1. From Debate Parlor, enter the courtyard and cross the broken stone supports on the eastern side to the stairs where the giant ball rolls. Wait for a ball to pass before climbing, using the side railing for cover.
  2. Enter the upper doorway and reach Moongrum's courtyard. The lift ahead leads to Rennala, but take the southern side exit and the stairs toward the covered passage instead.
  3. Beyond the small gate, jump the eastern railing onto the narrow ledge. Go past the ladder to open the shortcut door if you want a safer return, then climb the ladder.
  4. Clear the sorcerers and Mad Pumpkin Head in the upper chamber. Open the chest in its northwestern corner for Glintstone Scarab.
  5. The sorcerer producing the giant rolling ball is in this upper area. Defeating him stops that hazard for later visits; Rennala is not required for the helmet.

Notes

  • Reduces the FP cost of sorceries by 15% while worn. It does not reduce incantation costs or the cost of weapon skills.
  • Its passive effect increases incoming physical and elemental hit damage by 10% before the rest of your defenses are accounted for. The FP saving comes with a real defensive penalty, rather than simply a low armor rating.
  • Other FP modifiers multiply with this one. With Azur's Glintstone Staff's 20% sorcery cost increase, the combined factor is 1.02, or roughly 2% above the normal cost before whole-number rounding.
  • The saving does not add Intelligence, improve sorcery scaling or increase the damage of a cast. It can give you more casts from your FP pool, but it does not make those casts individually stronger.
  • Weighs 5.1 and gives six poise. It cannot be altered, and it comes from a fixed chest rather than a random scarab drop.
