Weeping Peninsula

Starting Site of Grace: Ailing Village Outskirts

  1. Cross Bridge of Sacrifice from southern Limgrave into the Weeping Peninsula. Follow the main road toward Castle Morne Rampart, then take the uphill route north toward Ailing Village and its outskirts grace.
  2. From Ailing Village Outskirts, go southeast to the cliffs. The three Winged Misbegotten carrying bows here are the enemies to farm, rather than the frenzied villagers inside the settlement.
  3. Draw the bow carriers down or shoot them from safe ground, defeat them and collect their drops. Avoid fighting beside a cliff edge while another archer is firing.
  4. Rest at the outskirts grace and repeat. Castle Morne and other Winged Misbegotten locations also offer the same bow, but a melee-only Misbegotten is not the correct enemy.

Notes

  • Strength provides much stronger physical scaling than Dexterity. This is the Strength-focused light bow, rather than another bow best treated as a pure Dexterity weapon.
  • Its higher physical attack comes with shorter reach and earlier damage falloff. Arrow's Reach Talisman or Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman helps its arrows travel more effectively, but does not turn the bow into a greatbow.
  • Keeps the quick running, rolling and jumping shots of a light bow. This makes it useful for a Strength build that wants to shoot between evasive movements.
  • The correct Winged Misbegotten have a 2% base drop chance at 100 Item Discovery. A run through the three near Ailing Village can produce no bow even when all three are defeated.
  • Barrage costs 2 FP for each rapid shot and spends one arrow per shot. Its arrows apply 75% of normal ammunition status buildup per hit, so the benefit is repeated hits rather than full-strength buildup on each arrow.
  • Starts with Barrage. Can use compatible Ashes of War for this bow class, but keeps Standard affinity rather than changing to Heavy, Keen or an elemental melee affinity.
  • Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25.
  • Grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied. Choose the ammunition for added elemental damage or status buildup; this bow has no Arcane scaling to increase the arrows' status buildup.
  • Uses arrows, rather than bolts or greatarrows. Equip up to two arrow types in the ammunition slots and use the corresponding firing input to choose between them.
  • Requires 16 Strength and 8 Dexterity. Weighs 3. Ordinary shots spend stamina and ammunition; the skill also needs its listed FP.
