Starting Site of Grace: Artist's Shack

Reach the eastern Liurnia plateau and find Artist's Shack beside the road. Activate its grace before starting the fight.
Follow the road south from the shack and look for the lone knight in golden armor patrolling the path.
Defeat the golden sword-and-shield knight and collect its loot. Golden Greatshield is a separate random drop; its first-time Dragon Cult Prayerbook reward does not replace the shield roll.
Rest at Artist's Shack to bring the knight back and repeat. This Liurnia farm does not require access to Altus Plateau or Leyndell.

Requires 34 Strength and weighs 17. Standard affinity provides a full physical block and 72 base Guard Boost, favoring a build with enough Strength and equipment-load room for a heavier shield.
Its Standard elemental guards are 68% Holy, 60% Fire and 57% Magic and Lightning. The gold appearance does not mean complete Holy protection.
Guard Boost reduces stamina spent on a block. It does not reduce the HP chip from an element that the shield only partially blocks, and stamina depletion can still cause a guard break.
Has No Skill by default, leaving a right-hand weapon skill available while held in the left hand. Can use compatible Ashes of War if you prefer a shield action.
Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25. Physical shield attacks scale with Strength on Standard; there is no innate Faith scaling or Holy attack just because it belongs to Leyndell's knights.
Can use Shield Grease or compatible defensive shield spells. Elemental affinities can favor a particular guarding matchup while reducing physical coverage, so Standard remains the full-physical-block option.
The lone Leyndell Knight south of Artist's Shack in Liurnia is a repeatable early farm. Dragon Cult Prayerbook is its separate first-kill reward, not confirmation that the shield has dropped.
