In-game description
Wooden tower shield. Lightweight for a greatshield and easy to handle.
Commonly used in the Shattering.
Greatshields boast high damage negation and guard capacity, making enemy attacks easy to repel.
Skill
Brace behind shield before using bodyweight to ram foes while maintaining guarding stance. Weaker enemies will be shoved backwards, and can even be staggered.Ash of War: Shield Bash
Compatible Ashes of War (7)
These Ashes of War can be applied to this weapon.
Where to find
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Gatefront
- From Church of Elleh, follow the road north through the woods to Gatefront Ruins. Activate Gatefront beside the large gate before starting the farm.
- Enter Gatefront Ruins and find the Godrick Soldiers carrying large rectangular shields. Target those soldiers rather than the armored knight with the gold shield.
- Defeat the carriers and check their drops. Rest at Gatefront and repeat until Lordsworn's Shield drops.
Notes
- Requires 16 Strength and weighs nine. It is a low-requirement greatshield with 94% Physical protection and 63 base Guard Boost on Standard affinity.
- Greatshield deflection can make susceptible light attacks bounce, but the 94% block still lets physical chip damage through. It is not equivalent to a 100% physical shield.
- Shield Bash costs 10 FP by default. It can be replaced with a compatible greatshield skill or No Skill; ordinary shield Parry is not available to greatshields.
- The rectangular-shield Godrick Soldiers at Gatefront have a 2% base chance at 100 Discovery. Brass Shield carriers and the camp's armored knight are different targets.
- No boss is required for the farm. Two-handing meets the Strength requirement at 11 Strength, but then the shield is your two-handed weapon rather than a normal left-hand guard.
- Upgrade it with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. The listed blocking percentages and base Guard Boost describe Standard affinity; changing affinity can trade physical protection for an element.
- Can use compatible shield Ashes of War. Shield Grease or Scholar's Shield can improve guarding; these are defensive shield buffs rather than permission to apply ordinary offensive grease to every affinity.
