Caelid

Starting Site of Grace: Fort Gael North

Reach Caelid by following the northeastern Limgrave road past Summonwater Village and Smoldering Church. Continue into the red region and look south toward Fort Gael on the western side of Caelid.
Approach from the north and activate Fort Gael North grace before entering the soldier camp. The fort's closed gate and the lion inside are separate from this outdoor farm.
Follow the slope south toward the walls, using the rocks to break the greatbow knight's line of sight. Watch for ordinary soldiers and the Flame Chariot along the approach.
Find the Redmane Knight carrying the large lion-crested greatshield, rather than the greatbow knight or ordinary soldiers. Defeat it, collect any glowing loot and rest at Fort Gael North to repeat. The shield is a random drop.

Requires 30 Strength and weighs 14. Standard affinity blocks all physical damage and 70% Fire damage, with 70 base Guard Boost.
Fire protection is its strongest elemental guard. Magic is 54%, Lightning 53% and Holy 52%, so the Redmane shield is more useful against Fire than those other elements before affinity changes.
A blocked Fire attack still allows part of that Fire damage through. Guard Boost controls the separate stamina cost and does not turn 70% Fire guarding into immunity.
Has No Skill by default and can use compatible Ashes of War. In the left hand, No Skill lets you activate your right-hand weapon skill immediately.
Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25. Its Standard shield attacks scale with Strength and have no innate Fire damage or Faith requirement.
Can use defensive Shield Grease or a compatible shield-buff spell. A Fire-focused affinity can improve that matchup further while giving up some physical guarding.
Farm the Redmane Knights actually carrying the greatshield. Greatbow knights and ordinary soldiers have different equipment, and Radahn's festival and boss fight are unnecessary for the outdoor Fort Gael farm.
