Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Bellum Church
Before you go
- Use a version with the Tarnished Edition additions available.
- Have 1,000 runes.
- From Bellum Church, follow the path north down toward the ravine. Find the merchant's camp along this path and buy the shield for 1,000 runes.
Notes
- Requires 9 Strength and 12 Dexterity, and weighs 3. Its Standard guard blocks all Physical damage from a successfully guarded hit while stamina remains.
- Starting Guard Boost is 50. Full Physical blocking does not mean blocking costs no stamina, and a heavy enemy attack can still break an exhausted guard.
- Standard elemental blocking is 52% Magic, 44% Fire, 24% Lightning and 48% Holy. Lightning is the weakest, so an otherwise successful block can still leave substantial chip damage.
- It is unusually light for a Medium Shield with full Physical blocking. The tradeoff is lower Guard Boost than several heavier alternatives.
- No Skill is equipped by default, leaving the right-hand weapon's skill available while the shield is in the left hand. It has no parry until a compatible parry Ash is installed.
- Can use compatible shield Ashes and upgrades with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. Changing affinity can reduce its full Physical blocking, so the 100% figure describes Standard rather than every setup.
- Shield strikes scale with Strength. The 12 Dexterity requirement does not provide Dexterity damage scaling on its ordinary bash.
- Idus Knight starts with it. Other classes can buy it for 1,000 runes from the merchant on the path down toward the ravine north of Bellum Church.
- It has no special matching bonus with Silver Grooved Armor. The shared appearance does not add a hidden set effect.
- Requires the additional weapon content. Its availability outside the Realm of Shadow does not mean it appears in an installation without those additions.
