Starting Site of Grace: Saintsbridge

  1. From Stormhill Shack, follow the road east through the woods to Saintsbridge and activate its grace. Summonwater Village lies farther east on the same road.
  2. From Saintsbridge, follow the road east toward Summonwater Village. Look for the two skeletons that rise beside this stretch of road carrying swords and metal shields.
  3. Defeat them and strike their glowing remains before they revive. Check their drops, then rest and repeat until the shield drops.

Notes

  • Requires eight Strength and weighs 3.5. Standard affinity blocks 92% Physical damage and has 53 base Guard Boost in the current data.
  • Holy protection is 56%, while Fire protection is only 27%. Its worn sun emblem does not give it innate Holy attack damage.
  • Parry is fitted by default and costs no FP. A compatible replacement or No Skill can be used instead.
  • The sword-and-shield skeletons beside the Saintsbridge road have a 2% base shield chance at 100 Discovery. Not every skeleton, and not every shield it appears to carry, uses that same drop list.
  • Finish the glowing remains after the skeleton falls. Return to the grace to reset the farm rather than waiting for it to revive during the same attempt.
  • Upgrade it with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. The listed blocking percentages and base Guard Boost describe Standard affinity; changing affinity can trade physical protection for an element.
  • Can use compatible shield Ashes of War. Shield Grease or Scholar's Shield can improve guarding; these are defensive shield buffs rather than permission to apply ordinary offensive grease to every affinity.
