Weeping Peninsula

Starting Site of Grace: Church of Pilgrimage

  1. Cross Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula, follow the main road south and take the western branch onto the central plateau. Ride north across the higher ground to Church of Pilgrimage and activate its grace.
  2. From Church of Pilgrimage, go northeast to the nearby graveyard. Search among the graves for the corpse holding an item.
  3. Collect Gilded Iron Shield from that corpse. It is a fixed pickup and does not require farming the enemies.

Notes

  • Requires eight Strength and weighs three. Standard affinity blocks 88% Physical damage and starts with 51 Guard Boost.
  • Holy protection is 51%, while Lightning protection is only 17%. Stronger protection against one element does not carry across to every elemental attack.
  • Parry is fitted by default and costs no FP. A compatible replacement skill can change its function without needing another shield.
  • The graveyard corpse northeast of Church of Pilgrimage guarantees the shield. It is not a random skeleton drop like Sun Realm Shield.
  • Upgrade it with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. The listed blocking percentages and base Guard Boost describe Standard affinity; changing affinity can trade physical protection for an element.
  • Can use compatible shield Ashes of War. Shield Grease or Scholar's Shield can improve guarding; these are defensive shield buffs rather than permission to apply ordinary offensive grease to every affinity.
