About this armor

Weighs 7.9 and provides 13 poise.

It has no hidden attribute, weapon-skill, casting or healing bonus. Wearing the complete matching outfit adds no separate effect.

The full outfit provides enough poise to withstand some lighter PvE hits without staggering, but 77 poise does not prevent every stagger or replace an attack's own interruption rules.

In-game description

A helm of thick steel with black luster. Very weighty, but boasts high damage negation.

A piece of protective gear for those who rely only on themselves upon the battlefield.

Whether putting your foes to the sword in glorious victory or fleeing a deadly onslaught, first must you remain among the standing.

Where to find

Isolated Merchant's Shack

Weeping Peninsula

Starting Site of Grace: Isolated Merchant's Shack

Before you go

  • Have access to the additional armor content.
  1. Cross Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula and follow the western roads toward the fields around Fourth Church of Marika. This is the western half of the peninsula, rather than the main road south toward Castle Morne.
  2. From Fourth Church of Marika, head south-southwest past Witchbane Ruins toward the coast. Keep clear of the Walking Mausoleum's feet and look for the wooden shack farther south.
  3. Activate Isolated Merchant's Shack grace and speak to the merchant. This is the western Weeping Peninsula shack, rather than the other isolated shack in Dragonbarrow.
  4. Buy the Steel pieces individually. The helm, gauntlets and greaves cost 1,000 runes each; the chest costs 1,500. All four cost 4,500 runes. No boss fight is required.

Heavy Knight class equipment

Starting area

Before you go

  • Have access to the additional starting classes.
  1. Choose Heavy Knight when creating a new character to start with the four regular outfit pieces. Existing characters can use the merchant purchase instead.

Notes

  • Weighs 7.9 and provides 13 poise.
  • It has no hidden attribute, weapon-skill, casting or healing bonus. Wearing the complete matching outfit adds no separate effect.
  • The full outfit provides enough poise to withstand some lighter PvE hits without staggering, but 77 poise does not prevent every stagger or replace an attack's own interruption rules.
  • None of the four Steel pieces can be altered. There is no lighter capeless chest to obtain through tailoring.
  • Each merchant piece has one copy in stock. The chest costs 1,500 runes and the other pieces cost 1,000 each; purchases do not require killing the merchant.
  • The Heavy Knight class starts with the regular outfit. Other classes can buy it on an existing character, so you do not have to restart to obtain it.
  • These items require access to the additional classes and armor content. Finding the right location alone does not make an unavailable shop entry or invader appear.
