Starting Site of Grace: Taylew's Ruined Forge
Before you go
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- Access the Realm of Shadow and reach Rauh Base.
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
- Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
- Turn left through the route beneath the rock and continue until you emerge into Rauh Base. Activate Ancient Ruins Base grace ahead.
- From Ancient Ruins Base, head north to Taylew's Ruined Forge beneath the enormous bridge. Enter through the opening in the structure and activate its grace.
- Follow the stairs and ladder down, cross the first gap, then descend to the large diagonal stone cylinder over the lava. Climb the cylinder and jump onto the upper platforms beside it.
- Find the Golem Smiths that launch their stone fists at you. These are the weapon's drop source, rather than the ordinary golems carrying tools or pots.
- Defeat the fist-launching golems and check their dropped items. Rest at the entrance grace and repeat if needed. You do not need to collect the altar reward to obtain Golem Fist.
Notes
- Requires 24 Strength, 8 Dexterity, 11 Intelligence and 11 Faith, and weighs 6. Standard affinity strongly favors Strength; Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith contribute only small Physical increases.
- Two-handing equips the matching fist. Ordinary punches deal Strike Physical damage, while heavy attacks launch the fist ahead as a short-range projectile.
- The fist reappears without using ammunition, and normal heavy throws use stamina rather than FP. It remains a short ranged fist weapon, not a substitute for a long-range bow.
- The heavy can make a close weapon contact as well as launching the fist. Staying close enough for both is different from landing only the flying portion.
- Smithing Talisman improves eligible throws by 10% against enemies and 5% against other players. It does not increase projectile range or turn ordinary melee contacts into throwing attacks.
- Axe Talisman improves an ordinary charged heavy. Shard of Alexander does not improve the normal fist projectile merely because it travels through the air.
- The Standard version has no innate Blood Loss despite its paired fist moveset. A compatible status affinity is needed to add buildup, and each attack's contact rules still determine how much applies.
- Endure is the starting skill and can help keep attacking through a brief interruption window. It does not prevent damage or make a mistimed heavy safe.
- Weapon-coating skills such as Sacred Blade, Chilling Mist and Royal Knight's Resolve are excluded. Being infusible does not mean it can use every Ash available to an ordinary weapon of the same class.
- Uses ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. Can use compatible Ashes of War and their supported affinities, but grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied even with a Physical affinity.
- Only the Golem Smiths that launch their fists are the drop source. The ordinary pot and tool carriers do not become eligible just because they share the same dungeon.
- It is a random drop, unlike the Smithscript Axe and Greathammer corpses. Rest and repeat the eligible enemy if the weapon does not appear; the final altar is unnecessary.
