In-game description
Dagger engraved with a smithscript.
Reduced mass enhances the effects of the smithing arts, allowing this weapon to function as a throwing dagger for all attacks. Once thrown, the dagger instantly reappears in the wielder's hand. Incompatible with ashes of war that grant skills with an affinity.

Where to find
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Ruined Forge Lava Intake
Before you go
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Castle Front in Gravesite Plain, take the southeastern road downhill, then look for the ruined stone entrance of Ruined Forge Lava Intake. This is the southern forge, separate from the two in Scadu Altus and Rauh Base.
- Find Ruined Forge Lava Intake southeast of Castle Front. Enter and follow the passage into the chamber with hanging chains.
- Descend the ladder, follow the route through the Golem Smith rooms and climb toward the lever overlooking the large lava pipe.
- From the lever's platform, drop carefully to the floor below. Follow the lower hallway into the room with another Golem Smith.
- Loot the corpse near that room's back wall for the dagger. The golem guards a pickup; you do not need to wait for a random drop.
Notes
- Requires 5 Strength, 11 Dexterity, 11 Intelligence and 11 Faith, and weighs 1.5. Standard affinity strongly favors Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling and small Intelligence and Faith contributions to Physical damage.
- Belongs to the Throwing Blade class, rather than the ordinary Dagger class. All normal attacks throw the weapon, and it immediately reappears without consuming inventory daggers.
- Two-handing brings out a second blade for the paired attack pattern. This does not turn it into a pair of ordinary melee daggers or grant ordinary Dagger Ash compatibility.
- Ordinary throws use stamina without an FP cost. Charged and paired attacks have different contact counts, so their total damage is not the same as one ordinary single-blade throw.
- Piercing Throw is the starting skill and costs 8 FP. It throws farther and passes through enemies, making it useful for a line of targets rather than a spread.
- The weapon's attack power and chosen affinity determine its damage. Blood or Poison affinity can give its attacks buildup, while Arcane does not add buildup to a Standard dagger that has none.
- Smithing Talisman improves eligible throws by 10% against enemies and 5% against other players. It does not increase projectile range or turn ordinary melee contacts into throwing attacks.
- Shard of Alexander improves damaging skills such as Piercing Throw or Scattershot Throw, rather than every normal dagger attack. Axe Talisman is for the ordinary charged heavy.
- Its low individual attack power and short reach make repeated safe contacts more practical than expecting one dagger to match a heavy melee weapon. Stay close enough for reliable hits while leaving room to avoid retaliation.
- Weapon-coating skills such as Sacred Blade, Chilling Mist and Royal Knight's Resolve are excluded. Being infusible does not mean it can use every Ash available to an ordinary weapon of the same class.
- Uses ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. Can use compatible Ashes of War and their supported affinities, but grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied even with a Physical affinity.
- The corpse below the pipe lever is the pickup. The nearby Golem Smith is guarding it, rather than holding a random dagger drop.
