Starting Site of Grace: West Capital Rampart

Before you go

Enter Leyndell while it is still the Royal Capital.

Reach West Capital Rampart while Leyndell is still the Royal Capital. Leave the grace room and use the broken wall beside the stairs to drop onto the lower walkway.
Continue toward Fortified Manor, the large building resembling Roundtable Hold. Go around to the small roofs against its side rather than searching only the ground-floor door.
Use the roofs and wooden platforms to reach the opening into the manor's upper floor.
Inside the upper entrance, turn left toward the smithing corridor. The layout resembles Hewg's corner at Roundtable Hold.
Loot Hammer from the body beside Sanctified Whetblade. Collect both separate pickups before leaving; neither one is granted just by collecting the other.
Do this before defeating Maliketh. You do not have to complete Bernahl's invasion contract to enter this ordinary manor room.

Notes

With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
Collect it before defeating Maliketh. Fortified Manor's interior belongs to Leyndell's Royal Capital layout.
Requires 14 Strength and 7 Dexterity and weighs 6.5. Strength is its stronger Standard attribute, and Heavy supports that focus further.
Its ordinary attacks deal Strike damage, which is useful against enemies whose hard bodies resist slashes. It remains a hammer rather than a great hammer despite the large stone head.
Starts with Kick, which costs no FP and heavily attacks guarding stamina. A successful guard break still needs a separate critical attack input.
Its Heavy affinity uses a slightly weaker modifier for some separate Heavy, Quality and Fire skill projectiles. This does not remove its strong Heavy blade damage or weaken every compatible skill.
It is found beside Sanctified Whetblade in the manor's upper smithing corridor. Hewg at Roundtable Hold does not drop this weapon, and killing a friendly smith is unnecessary.
It has no innate bleed or other status. Collect it before Maliketh changes Leyndell, since its ordinary manor pickup is then inaccessible.
