In-game description

Signature weapon of battlemages, hewn from hard glintstone. This club is much heavier than its size suggests, but has no magic power.

So that they not lose sight of the true essence of combat, battlemages prefer to feel the impact of their blows, fighting their opponents hand to hand.

Starting Site of Grace: Church of the Plague

  1. From Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank, follow the road north through Sellia Gateway. Watch for the giant throwing rocks above the gateway. Gowry's wooden shack is off the road on the right, before the town.
  2. Continue north into Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Activate Sellia Under-Stair on the southwestern edge and follow the main street north, watching for sorcerers appearing beside the buildings.
  3. Climb the stairs at the far end toward the golden sapling and the sealed upper gate. The large roots beside these steps provide the way onto the roofs.
  4. Near the sapling, look southwest through the broken railing for a root leading toward the nearest candle tower. Follow it, climb the tower ladder and interact with the flame at the top.
  5. Return to the upper steps and use the root again, this time stepping onto the adjoining roofs. Work south and east across the roofs and branches toward the eastern tower. Use Torrent's double jump for the gaps and climb the ladder to light its flame.
  6. From that eastern roof route, head back across the connecting roots and roofs toward the southern tower on the western side. The narrow approach has a corpse with a Stonesword Key. Climb the ladder and light the third flame.
  7. Take the now-open upper gate beside the golden sapling to Sellia Backstreets grace. Follow the uphill road beyond town, watching for the rolling boulders and the enemies on the bends.
  8. At the top, go to Church of the Plague on the eastern cliff. Watch for the two Kindred of Rot outside, enter through the broken wall and activate the grace.
  9. From Church of the Plague, ride northeast into the graveyard below the tall cliff. Find the Battlemage with the stone club near the large grave markers outside Sellia Hideaway.
  10. Defeat the Battlemage and check the drop. Return to Church of the Plague and rest to bring it back, then repeat until Stone Club drops. You do not need to open the hidden cave wall or fight its bosses.

Notes

  • Standard affinity strongly favors Strength over Dexterity. Heavy removes Dexterity scaling and further emphasizes Strength. The glintstone material does not give its normal attacks Magic damage or Intelligence scaling.
  • Its repeated one-handed and two-handed light-attack chains are slightly faster than the ordinary hammer chain, like Club. It is useful for keeping pressure on a nearby target, although its short reach still makes positioning important.
  • Normal attacks deal Strike damage with no innate status buildup. It relies on impact rather than the blood loss available on Spiked Club.
  • Requires 16 Strength and 8 Dexterity, weighs 7.0 and has a normal critical rating of 100. It is heavier than Club and Curved Club, so account for the extra equip load.
  • On Heavy affinity, certain independent Strength-scaling skill projectiles have slightly weaker scaling than the ordinary Heavy upgrade family. Ground Slam and Flame of the Redmanes are examples. This exception does not weaken every skill or apply on every affinity.
  • Starts with Kick, which costs no FP and is useful against a raised shield. It is a guard-breaking option rather than a powerful spell simply because the weapon is made from glintstone.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War and upgrades with Smithing Stones to +25. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • Battlemages have a 4% base weapon chance at 100 Item Discovery. A clothing or smithing-stone drop does not mean the club must drop with it. The graveyard carrier respawns after resting.
