Starting Site of Grace: Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank
- Follow Caelid's southern highway around the southern edge of the red swamp and activate Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank. Prepare healing and a way to clear Scarlet Rot before leaving the dry bank.
- Ride north into the Swamp of Aeonia toward the large dead roots and the eastern part of the swamp. Look for the gold-armored Cleanrot Knights rising from the shallow rot; approach one at a time.
- Stay on Torrent while moving through the swamp when possible. If you dismount to fight, use dry ground and watch your Scarlet Rot buildup as well as the knight's attacks.
- Defeat the knights, collect their glowing drops and return to the bank grace to repeat. You do not need to defeat Commander O'Neil or Malenia to farm these enemies.
- Both the spear and scythe knights carry the thin sword. Check their loot for Cleanrot Knight's Sword, then rest at the bank grace to reset them. You do not have to target only spear carriers as you would for Cleanrot Spear.
Notes
- With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Requires 11 Strength and 13 Dexterity, weighs 4 and starts with 109 Physical attack. Strength is its stronger Standard scaling attribute, unlike the Dexterity-focused regular Estoc.
- Its long-reaching thrusts make it useful beside a shield or another thrusting sword. It keeps the usual thrusting heavy attacks rather than the sweeping heavies shared by Estoc and Noble's Estoc.
- Starts with Impaling Thrust for 9 FP, but the skill can be replaced. Choosing Heavy affinity supports a Strength-focused setup; eligible elemental and status affinities provide other options.
- It has no innate Scarlet Rot, Blood Loss or Holy damage. The Cleanrot Knights' other attacks and their long-handled weapons do not transfer those properties to this sword.
- Both spear and scythe Cleanrot Knights carry the sword and can drop it. Its base chance is 4% at 100 Item Discovery, separate from their armor and other weapon drops.
- Commander O'Neil, Malenia and the Cleanrot dungeon bosses are unnecessary for the ordinary swamp farm. Do not mistake a boss's fixed reward for a guaranteed sword drop.
