Where to find
Before you go
- Choose Prisoner as your starting class.
- Prisoner begins the game with Estoc. Other classes can buy the same weapon later.
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Liurnia Lake Shore
Before you go
- Bring 3,000 runes.
- From Lake-Facing Cliffs, follow the path downhill to the lake. Activate Liurnia Lake Shore and find the merchant beside the water nearby.
- Speak to him and buy Estoc for 3,000 runes.
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Murkwater Cave
Before you go
- Spare Patches and bring 3,000 runes.
- Follow the stream north from Agheel Lake and enter Murkwater Cave in the western cliff. Continue through the cave to Patches' room and open the chest to trigger his fight.
- Stop attacking when Patches surrenders and finish his dialogue. Rest or reload, then return to his shop and buy Estoc for 3,000 runes.
- If he has moved, the same unsold copy remains in his shop at Scenic Isle or Volcano Manor when available. Moving him does not replenish another copy.
Notes
- With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Requires 11 Strength and 13 Dexterity and weighs 4.5. It is heavier than Noble's Estoc, which weighs 3.5 and has lower requirements.
- Its heavy and charged-heavy attacks sweep sideways instead of using the usual rapier thrust. This helps cover enemies beside you, but those slashing contacts do not gain a Pierce counterhit bonus.
- Starts with Impaling Thrust for 9 FP. The forward skill is separate from its slashing heavy attacks and can penetrate much of a raised shield's protection.
- It can attack from behind a raised shield, but attacking and blocking draw from the same stamina pool. Leave enough stamina for the hit you expect to block.
- Prisoner starts with one, and two separate merchants sell one each for 3,000 runes. Other classes can obtain two fixed copies without farming or trading.
- Wandering Nobles drop Noble's Estoc, a different weapon. Farming those nobles does not provide more copies of the regular Estoc.
