Starting Site of Grace: Stormveil Cliffside
Before you go
- Collect the Rusty Key in Stormveil's dark room guarded by a Banished Knight.
- After defeating Margit, activate Stormveil Main Gate and speak to Gostoc in the room to the left. Take his suggested side passage along the cliff.
- Follow the ruined wall and rocks to Stormveil Cliffside grace. Climb the stone steps into the storage building above it.
- Go up the wooden stairs, watching for enemies throwing fire pots at the explosive barrels. Let a throw clear the barrels from a safe distance before climbing farther.
- Continue up the next stairs to the dark room on the right. The door can lock behind you, leaving you with a Banished Knight.
- Defeat the Banished Knight and collect the Rusty Key from the corpse. Return to the locked door on the floor below and open it.
- Return to the locked wooden door on the lower level and use the key. Climb the ladder behind it, then turn right instead of taking the main route onward.
- Jump the gap onto the wooden platform, pass the Commoners, and cross the beams. Make the next jump toward the opening in the outer wall.
- Go through the opening, descend the outside stairs, and enter the small tower room around the corner. Search the corpse on its ledge to collect Brick Hammer.
Notes
- Requires 31 Strength with no Dexterity requirement and weighs 12.5. Standard damage scales only with Strength. Two-handing meets the requirement at 21 Strength.
- Deals physical Strike damage, useful against enemies that resist cutting attacks but are weaker to blunt hits. Heavy affinity reaches S Strength scaling at +25; the letter alone does not guarantee more damage than every other great hammer.
- Barbaric Roar costs 16 FP and replaces the heavy-attack sequence with a forceful combination while its buff lasts. Those altered attacks behave differently from the hammer's normal heavy swings.
- Its head is compact despite the weight. Get close enough for the hammer itself to connect instead of treating the weapon as a long polearm.
- Its special Heavy upgrade path gives independently scaled skills a slightly smaller Strength contribution than the ordinary Heavy path. This does not remove its strong Strength scaling for weapon hits.
- A fixed corpse pickup on Stormveil's outer-wall detour. The Rusty Key opens the approach; neither a Stonesword Key nor a Godrick victory is required.
- Upgrade it with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. Its critical rating is the normal 100.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs; elemental and status affinities normally prevent those coatings.
