Altus Plateau

Starting Site of Grace: Windmill Village

Before you go

  • Reach Altus Plateau.
  1. Reach Altus Plateau with the Dectus Medallion halves from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or defeat Magma Wyrm Makar at the top of Ruin-Strewn Precipice.
  2. From Altus Highway Junction, follow the road north past the map monument to Forest-Spanning Greatbridge. The waygate beside that grace brings you to the northern end of the broken bridge.
  3. Leave the northern bridge end and follow the road east across northern Altus, toward the windmills. At the village junction, take the uphill path through the wooden entrance arch and activate Windmill Village grace.
  4. Before climbing the main village path, go left toward the lower windmill near the outer cliff. Walk behind that windmill to reach the cliff edge.
  5. Follow the narrow rocky shelf north and then east-northeast around the outside of the village. Stay on the shelf rather than jumping down into the valley.
  6. Loot the corpse along the cliff for Celebrant's Skull, then return along the same shelf to the village entrance.

Notes

  • A Great Hammer with Strike damage and equal Strength and Dexterity scaling on Standard affinity. Two-handing improves effective Strength, while Heavy or Keen changes the scaling emphasis; equal coefficients do not make every stat split equally strong.
  • Qualifying weapon hits grant 20 runes, twice the fixed payment of the other three Celebrant weapons. This is separate from enemy kill rewards and does not become larger with more damage or reinforcement.
  • The small rune payments are an extra benefit of fighting with it, rather than a replacement for ordinary rune farming. Its slower hammer attacks also give fewer opportunities to land hits than a quick dagger.
  • Requires 18 Strength and 12 Dexterity, weighs 8.5 and has a normal critical rating of 100. Strike damage gives it a different role from the village's cleaver, sickle and spear.
  • Comes with Barbaric Roar for 16 FP, temporarily strengthening attacks and changing the heavy-attack sequence. The roar is replaceable and is not required for the weapon's rune effect.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War and upgrades with Smithing Stones to +25. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied with Standard, Heavy, Keen or Quality affinity; elemental and status affinities prevent ordinary weapon coatings.
  • This is a fixed corpse pickup outside the village, rather than a rare dancer drop. You can collect it without defeating the Godskin Apostle or farming the clothing sets.
