Where to find
Siofra River
Starting Site of Grace: Worshippers' Woods
Before you go
- Reach Siofra River's upper riverbank.
- Enter Siofra River Well in Mistwood near the Minor Erdtree and ride its long lift down. Follow the lower ruins northeast to the next lift, ride up, then continue along the riverbank to Worshippers' Woods. The brazier puzzle and Ancestor Spirit fight are unnecessary for the farm.
- From Worshippers' Woods, search the nearby Ancestral Follower groups for the warriors carrying large curved horn hammers. Check the groups west and south of the grace.
- Defeat those hammer carriers and check their dropped items. Rest at Worshippers' Woods and repeat if the weapon does not drop.
- The smaller axe carriers and bow users do not drop Greathorn Hammer.
- The hammer has a base 2% drop chance at 100 Discovery. Only the large horn-hammer carriers have that drop, so do not spend the whole run clearing every archer or small axe wielder.
Notes
- Requires 22 Strength and 10 Dexterity and weighs 10.0. Its Standard physical damage favors Strength, with a smaller Dexterity contribution. The ordinary hits deal strike damage.
- While the weapon is active, an enemy death restores 2% of your maximum HP plus 20 HP. For example, at 1,000 maximum HP that is 40 HP per qualifying death. It is not continuous regeneration and does not heal on every hit.
- The hammer does not need to land the final blow. You can keep it in your other active hand while another weapon or a spell kills enemies. Leaving it in an inactive equipment slot does not provide the recovery.
- Cold affinity is a useful exception: it adds magic damage and Frostbite but gives this hammer no Intelligence scaling. Strength and Dexterity remain its damage-scaling attributes on Cold, and Arcane does not increase the Frostbite buildup.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War and affinities. Heavy supports a Strength focus, while other choices change the damage and status options. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Starts with Barbaric Roar, costing 16 FP for a 40-second physical-damage buff and altered heavy attacks. You can replace it with another compatible skill if you prefer a different attack pattern.
- Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25. Upgrades improve the weapon's direct damage rather than the fixed percentage and flat amount of healing.
- Hammer-carrying Ancestral Followers drop it at a base 2% chance. This is different from Envoy's Greathorn, Winged Greathorn and the singing shaman's headband reward.
