In-game description

Unique curved sword, notched like shark's teeth.

Weapon carried by corpse pillagers who prowl the sites of old battles.

The blade is tacky with blood and covered in hefty nicks, making it totally uneven. Life can be sinister indeed.

LocationLadder base beyond the first stone bridge

Mt. Gelmir

Starting Site of Grace: First Mt. Gelmir Campsite

  1. Reach Altus Plateau using both Dectus Medallion halves at the Grand Lift of Dectus, or climb the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeat Magma Wyrm Makar.
  2. Travel around northern Altus and cross the rope bridge near Writheblood Ruins to Bridge of Iniquity. Follow the lower road with the cliff on your left.
  3. Near the Abductor Virgins, find the long ladder between two torches on that left cliff. Climb it and activate First Mt. Gelmir Campsite on the upper ledge.
  4. From First Mt. Gelmir Campsite, continue northwest past the siege tower and cross the narrow natural stone bridge to the next camp. A Grafted Scion drops into this area.
  5. Find the tall ladder on the cliff ahead. Loot the corpse beside the wagon at its base for Scavenger's Curved Sword, keeping clear of the Scion if it is still alive.
  6. The weapon is below the ladder. The higher merchant, Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite and Fallingstar Beast are unnecessary, and the Scion is not a required kill.

Notes

  • With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling.
  • Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
  • Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • Its normal weapon hits build up blood loss. The effect only triggers against enemies that are vulnerable to it.
  • Requires 9 Strength and 14 Dexterity and weighs 3.5. Standard leans slightly toward Dexterity, but innate bleed also makes Occult useful for an Arcane-focused setup.
  • Has 45 innate Blood Loss buildup. Occult preserves that buildup and adds Arcane scaling for both Physical damage and bleed; Standard has no Arcane scaling.
  • Blood affinity gives the same base buildup progression as other Blood curved swords, rather than adding its full innate 45 on top. Its bleed proc does retain a usual flat damage component 100 points higher than Blood on a curved sword without innate bleed.
  • Cold keeps bleed and adds Frostbite, giving two separate buildup meters. This does not give Frostbite Intelligence scaling or make both effects scale with Arcane.
  • Paired curved-sword running and jumping attacks can make four contacts when both weapons connect. Partial contacts and individual status modifiers mean four visible swings are not four guaranteed full menu-value bleed applications.
  • Only one fixed copy is available per journey. For a matching pair, use a second journey or player trade, or pair it with a different curved sword and give that other blade its own suitable affinity.
  • Starts with Spinning Slash for 6 FP and a 12-FP follow-up. It is a replaceable skill, rather than a unique skill forced by the word Scavenger.
  • The nearby Grafted Scion does not drop it. Collect the corpse beside the cliff ladder; repeatedly farming that enemy will not provide a second sword.
