Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Ruin-Strewn Precipice

  1. Ride north along Liurnia's lake into the narrow ravine at its northern end. Follow the water between the cliffs to Ravine-Veiled Village and activate its grace.
  2. Climb the village ladder into the mine, then the next ladder inside. Watch for poison traps and Vulgar Militia before taking the mine lift upward.
  3. Continue through the miners' tunnel and up the stairs. Follow the western exit back outside and activate Ruin-Strewn Precipice grace beside the next lift.
  4. Ride that lift up. Follow the wooden cliff walkway past the Militiaman, checking behind you for a bat ambush, then continue through the other bats to the next upward ladder.
  5. On the next level, clear the bats around the singing winged enemy before climbing. Follow the upper cliff past the small octopuses and bats to another ladder.
  6. At the top, turn northwest to the short side ladder onto the higher roof. Cross the narrow connection and find the Giant Land Octopus with smaller octopuses around it.
  7. Loot the corpse beside the giant octopus for Serpent-God's Curved Sword. The nearby smithing stone is a separate pickup. You can take the sword without defeating the octopus if you can reach the body safely.
  8. Magma Wyrm Makar and the final lift toward Ruin-Strewn Precipice Overlook are farther along the main path. Neither the boss nor a Dectus Medallion is required for the sword.

Notes

  • With Standard affinity, physical damage favors Strength over Dexterity. Heavy removes Dexterity scaling and emphasizes Strength. It has no innate blood loss or poison, and its healing does not depend on a status effect.
  • Restores 2.5% of your maximum HP plus 25 when a nearby creature dies while the sword is in an active hand. At 2,000 maximum HP, each qualifying death restores 75 HP.
  • You do not need to deliver the killing hit with this sword. The passive works from the other active hand, including when it is on your back while you two-hand your main weapon. Carrying it in an inactive equipment slot is not enough.
  • The healing stacks with distinct effects from Blasphemous Blade, Greathorn Hammer and Taker's Cameo, but a second Serpent-God's Curved Sword does not double this passive.
  • This is healing from nearby deaths, not recovery on each hit or continuous regeneration. It is useful while clearing groups, but a lone boss does not supply repeated deaths throughout the fight.
  • On Heavy affinity, certain independent Strength-scaling skill projectiles have slightly weaker scaling than the ordinary Heavy upgrade family. Ground Slam and Flame of the Redmanes are examples. That exception does not reduce every melee skill or apply on all affinities.
  • The default Spinning Slash costs 6 FP, with another 12 FP for the follow-up. Changing that skill does not remove the nearby-death healing.
  • Requires 13 Strength and 9 Dexterity, weighs 4.0 and has a normal critical rating of 100. Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs. Changing its affinity does not turn the healing into an attribute-scaling effect.
  • The sword is a fixed corpse pickup beside the Giant Land Octopus. It is not a random octopus drop, and Magma Wyrm Makar is unnecessary for collecting it.
