Starting Site of Grace: Bellum Church

Before you go

  • Visit at night.
  1. Obtain the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind Glintstone Dragon Smarag west of Raya Lucaria. You can collect it without killing the dragon, then use it at South Raya Lucaria Gate to reach Main Academy Gate.
  2. Reach the northern academy highway. From Main Academy Gate, use the northeastern seal to arrive at East Raya Lucaria Gate.
  3. Follow Bellum Highway north toward Bellum Church and pass time until night at a nearby grace.
  4. Find the Night's Cavalry patrolling the road between the gate and church. Defeat it to receive Giant Hunt.
  5. Defeating this Bellum Highway rider awards Nightrider Glaive and Giant Hunt together. Defeating only the horse is insufficient; finish the rider before it remounts. If you die, set the time to night again at a grace before retrying.
  6. This rider is south of Bellum Church. The Night's Cavalry at Gate Town Bridge and the one near Lenne's Rise are different encounters and give different rewards.

Notes

  • Requires 26 Strength and 10 Dexterity and weighs 12.0. Its Standard physical damage strongly favors Strength. Heavy can reach S Strength scaling at +25 and removes the ordinary Dexterity contribution, while still keeping the Dexterity requirement.
  • Its heavy attacks use overhead strikes rather than a wide halberd sweep. That focuses the hit in front of you, while its other attacks and an attached skill can cover different angles.
  • It has stronger mounted attack values than a typical halberd, fitting its horseback role. This is a property of its mounted attacks, not a blanket damage bonus to every attack made while the weapon is equipped.
  • It has no innate bleed, rot, frost or holy damage. A dark blade and a Night's Cavalry origin do not supply an unlisted effect. Choose an affinity around the physical damage or status you actually want.
  • Starts with Spinning Slash, costing 6 FP for the first part and another 12 FP for the follow-up. It uses weapon contact, so your weapon damage and status setup matter for the hits.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War and affinities. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs. Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25.
  • The Bellum Highway Night's Cavalry awards one fixed copy alongside Giant Hunt. Farmed halberd carriers elsewhere do not drop this glaive, and killing the mount alone does not complete the encounter.
