Starting Site of Grace: Nokron, Eternal City

Before you go

  • Defeat Starscourge Radahn and reach Nokron.
  1. Defeat Starscourge Radahn, then travel to Fort Haight West in eastern Limgrave. Find the huge crater opened in Mistwood and descend by the visible rock ledges.
  2. Continue across the first rooftops and through the ruined entrance building to Nokron, Eternal City grace. The optional roof jumps for Ghostflame Torch are unnecessary for this farm.
  3. In the nearby streets and rooms, identify the pale Fallen Hawk Soldiers carrying spears. Draw them away from their shield and torch companions before fighting.
  4. Defeat the spear carriers, collect their drops and rest at Nokron, Eternal City to reset. Iron Spear is a random drop; the mimic boss and Fingerslayer Blade route are unnecessary.

Notes

  • With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
  • Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
  • Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • Requires 13 Strength and 11 Dexterity and weighs 4.5. Strength is its stronger Standard attribute, while Keen or another affinity can change that balance.
  • Its short reach is the main limitation compared with longer spears. Move close enough for the actual tip to connect rather than relying on the enemy's longer-looking weapon animation.
  • Starts with Charge Forth for 16 FP. Holding extends the charge before its finishing thrust; it does not lock the enemy in place for the whole run.
  • It can thrust while guarding with a shield. Leave enough stamina for both actions, since a last poke can make the next blocked hit break your guard.
  • The base drop chance is 2% at 100 Item Discovery from spear-carrying Fallen Hawk Soldiers. Their torch, bow and shield drops are separate.
  • It has no innate Frostbite or Magic damage. The Fallen Hawks' Ghostflame equipment does not give their dropped Iron Spear those effects.
