Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Waypoint Ruins Cellar

  1. From Agheel Lake North, cross the road bridge east of the lake and follow the road south toward Waypoint Ruins. Find the two-troll carriage on the road west of the ruins.
  2. Identify the Wandering Nobles carrying a straight sword. Defeat those carriers and collect their dropped loot. The carriage chest and troll drops are separate from the rare sword.
  3. For a nearby reset, enter the Waypoint Ruins cellar, defeat Mad Pumpkin Head and activate Waypoint Ruins Cellar. Rest there and return to the procession.
  4. You can also farm the outdoor group before opening the cellar and use another unlocked grace to reset. Joining Sellen's quest is unnecessary.

Notes

  • With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling.
  • Its critical rating is 110. This improves critical attacks such as backstabs and ripostes; it does not give every ordinary attack the same bonus.
  • Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
  • Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • Requires 8 Strength and 11 Dexterity and weighs 3.5. Its unusually long blade is useful for spacing, while the low base Physical attack makes reinforcement and appropriate scaling important.
  • Keen strengthens its Dexterity-focused blade damage, but some projectile-based skills use a slightly lower Keen reinforcement modifier on this sword. Strong blade scaling does not automatically mean stronger Storm Blade, Beast's Roar or Thunderbolt projectiles.
  • Starts with Square Off: 6 FP for its light follow-up and 8 FP for its heavy lunge. Its 110 critical rating is a separate benefit when you follow a stance break with a critical attack.
  • The base chance is 0.5% from nobles carrying the straight sword at 100 Item Discovery. Nobles carrying the thin thrusting sword drop Noble's Estoc instead.
  • Its 1,000-rune sale price is high for an ordinary sword, but it is far too rare to be a dependable rune farm. Higher Discovery improves the roll without guaranteeing a drop after a set number of kills.
