Where to find
Weeping Peninsula
Starting Site of Grace: Castle Morne Lift
- From Agheel Lake South, follow the southern road over Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula. Watch for the ballista at the far end of the bridge.
- Continue south along the main road past Castle Morne Rampart grace toward the castle on the coast. Avoid the giant archer's shots on the exposed final approach.
- Enter Castle Morne, activate Castle Morne Lift grace and ride the lift into the courtyard.
- Keep to the right and pass the burning mound of bodies, watching for dogs and Misbegotten. Use the doorway just beyond the mound on that side.
- Open the chest immediately to the left inside the room for Claymore. You do not need to climb the battlements or reach the beach boss.
Notes
- Requires 16 Strength and 13 Dexterity and weighs 9. Standard affinity gains more Physical damage from Strength than Dexterity, despite its higher Dexterity requirement than some early greatswords.
- Its heavy and charged heavy attacks use thrusts. Its two-handed rolling and crouching attacks also give it a forward-reaching thrust option.
- Those Pierce attacks can benefit from counter-hit bonuses such as Spear Talisman while an enemy is attacking. The benefit belongs to the Pierce hits rather than every attack.
- Its starting Lion's Claw costs 20 FP and performs a forward somersault into a heavy downward strike. It has strong interruption resistance, but you still take damage from attacks that connect.
- The chest gives Lion's Claw already fitted to the weapon. You do not need to defeat the Lion Guardian at Fort Gael just to use that skill on this Claymore.
- Its critical rating is 100. Its distinctive advantage is its thrusting moveset and flexible skill choice rather than a higher critical modifier.
- The weapon pickup does not depend on Edgar's quest or defeating Leonine Misbegotten.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25. Can use compatible Ashes of War; changing the affinity can change which attributes improve its damage.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- It has no innate blood loss, poison or Frostbite. An appropriate affinity or compatible buff is needed if you want one of those effects.
